Danny Rampling's Love Groove Dance Party
Recently I've been exploring the Love Groove Dance Party mixes from Danny Rampling. The mixes themselves mainly comprise of the mid 90's garage sound I've been playing with in my recent mixes; loads of gospel vocals, skippy drum patterns and powerful instrumentation is everywhere. Emotionally the mixes try to come from the same place as night like The Loft or Rampling's seminal Shoom night, but with 6 years distance between them.
The text included within the sleeves always provides interesting reading in these kinds of releases, and LGDP did not disappoint. Replete with the hindu Om, messages of love and peace, and references to the glitterball as god, they're the perfect encapsulation of this strange interweaving of spiritualism and music this project is so interested in.
